Hi guys!
Before the observatory became the center of our nights, it was Mel’s. Booths, coffee that never ran out, and the low hum of the grill while the town slid into evening. Todd would show up hungry from Dockside, Anna would come in with her notebook still open, and I’d be trying to pretend I wasn’t tired from school and whatever new plan we’d made for after dinner.
When you spend that many evenings in the same booth, you either talk yourself in circles or you make something. We started making these little one-die printable RPG games on napkins and index cards. They were simple enough to play between bites, and sharp enough to keep our heads working when the day was dull. Later, when Skelderheim gave us its own rhythms and rules, we rewrote them with that city in mind.
These are the versions that survived.
